I'll try and get tickets, so let me know before next monday

Mohammad Reza Shajarian is coming to town! He is one of the mot acclaimed singer/mentors in classical sufi mucic, and is of certain contemporary political interest.

I'll track down ticket pricing asap, but rest be assured that I'm going.

See this as a followup for the Mongolian wrestling ;)

Read more about it here.

Mohammad on his music being used to promote the latest presidential campaign in Iran:

As you know, IRIB repeatedly airs my epic songs particularly ‘O Iran, O House of Hope.’ Your Excellency knows that this song and my other works you use have been performed for the ambience of Iran in 1979 and 1980, and there is no connection between the songs and the present situation.

In 1995, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the airing of my works on IRIB. Once again, I repeat my appeal and stress that IRIB had no role in producing these works, thus, according to Sharia and law, it is obligatory that IRIB stop broadcasting my songs and other works immediately.
