This page is dedicated to gathering opinions and hopes at the starting point for people who want to join the project.

  • Host CS/HC. If we have a place where things are happening anyway, it should be second nature to participate/start something. A lot of these people are used to being very open, and we could provide a platform for sharing. Even if they come just to crash, I would be very happy to have them talk for an hour. The things to see thing (!) sound good. We could have a book that gets filled in by the surfers, Lonely Wiki? A giant map of berlin would make a great wall adornment.
  • Skills exchange/transfer. For sure, as we talked a lot about workshops. Maybe we should encourage people with the same skills to attend, so the ones organising can learn too? We could do some small ones (2/3 hours), like how to Couchsurf (hosting, surfing, travelling with a very small backpack, interesting historical routes).
  • Synergetic working
Like the Jelly project. It's not as much colaborating at the same time, as much as being around people to ask feedback. I did this at home with some friends, and it is actually very productive for all parties.
  • Scavenging for food, clothes, fruniture. We could have a free market!
  • Our own version of Ted Talks. It could be as easy as mailing somebody with an interesting dissertation and inviting him, or just push a surfer onto our stage.

In short, instead of the will to power, the will to understand eachother, and experiment with being together.

  •  Couchsurfing University
    • LIke Florian I suggest a local and global place for learning. Ideas that come in to my mind is music exchange of beats and lyrics or micro/small business advice and opportunities. Second version could be supplying space and activly engaging in the building of companies/bands.
  • Local encouragement
    • Having bright minds from all over the world passing through, we might place us self in a troubled area and improve it by adding ours and our visitors time.
  • Field activities
    • With a big field we will be able to make small spaces fór local kids to have gardens with vegetables etc.
    • Or Great space for Skaters, Football, Parkour etc.
      • Maybe even a local club or the like
  • Improv Everywhere

  • Learning community
  • Sustainable living
  • Involvement
  • Empowerment
  • Opportunities for guests to get involved in the local area (easy volunteering bank, give 1-2 hours to a local charity/org/coop)
  • A place for people from Hospex Communities to share knowledge and ideas through workshops, thematic nights, etc.
  • A place for me to experiment a collective mean of education to environment, for and by participants of the project

I like the ideas of both of you very much. I also wish for it to be a platform for travellers and hc/cs people to be, talk, do gardening, make music, enjoy life and act. One where at the same time the neighbours would be invited to participate.Bringing the hospitality spirit home is wonderful, helping each other is much facilitated when you live next to each other, after all!
In this way it would be a global and a local "Begegnungszentrum" at the same time. That is quite unique I think.

This is also what I wish for on a personal level. Living in a densely-populated area of Berlin, I am disconcerted feeling that I am in closer relation to people with whom I talk over the phone than with the ones that surround me physically.
I hope that our space will bring both together.

I hope it to be a beautiful place that is taken good care of by those who live there, and with respect and patience for one another...  as these things are fertile grounds for love and initiative :)

- i agree with the above

- creating an open space where people can share knowledge, skills and learn from each other. (including, courses, workshops and maybe something like a knowledge-library) !!!Couchsurfing university!!!

- being as autarcic (??? - independent) as possible - garden with own vegetables as example

 - using our skills as a pool for doing little jobs for people in the neighborhood or even a wider area (if the learning from each other works well, after a while everybody can do all the things the other can do, at least on a basic level)

- offering our power and skills in exchange for help in other fields - many involved people means many areas we can cover

- creating a jobswatch plattform (worker a works for a perode of time at the position of worker b and the opposite)

- getting in contact with other volunteer organistions. maybe we could be the place for an international work camp or sth. similar

- become a place of meeting for Hc members in berlin
- create a strong network of volunteers willing to improve the HC activity (offering guided tours, tips on where to go/what to see, etc to visiting members)
- be a support for members hitchhiking in Germany (maybe we could collaborate with a hh site there)

- organize weekly social activities and getting in touch with different NGO s who might offer support (visits to old people's houses/orphanages/etc - projection of movies, cultural nights, travelling stories nights, learning foreign languages nights...)
- creating a data base with volunteering opportunities for visiting members who might be interested (even a data base of people to contact in the club, i mean those who already worked as a volunteer and might share knowledge and experience/contacts)
