The Caravan Project is the place where I wanted to live long ago. It is a meeting place in all senses. A place to meet other people that have similar interests, a place to meet different cultures and learn one from each other.

The caravan is life in a slight different way than some of the most spread ways of living. Is a less individualistic and therefore more powerful way of life. It is a place that we can turn into what we want because we openly want to. That as a somewhat philosophical explanation.

Practicaly the project is a HOUSE  where we LIVE, LEARN and SHARE at the same time.
# We have our living space (dorm, workroom, etc) that is organized in a more comunal way so that we meet each other.
# We have our workshops or the permanent potential of learning from others.
# and we have the hospitality, our way to share this way of living with many other people that are not staying with us, that are coming to visit or that need a place to stay for a while.

Another important thing is that is an open space for everybdoy to use it. As a place to teach or learn, as a place to stay, as a place to party or experiment.

For all these reasons I think the Caravan is a Social Project. One like those the governments set up for helping the community network, for new comers to a city, for confused students. It is a social tool that ppl can use to organize themselves and solve problems in group, which would be more practical.

In the end I could see it as a tribe, we are a tribe in the middle of the sabana (maybe a nomade one) and we found that is is better to find our way if we are together.
